Bridging the Gap in Indian Education

India’s education system faces huge challenges. In 2024, only 23% of Year 4 children could read a Year 3-level text, and just 30% of Year 6 students could solve a basic division problem. At Youth in Action, we find this deeply concerning.

That’s why we’re working with secondary school students in Ahmedabad to strengthen their English skills. Many students are expected to be proficient under the school curriculum, yet most remain weak in the language. Our weekly sessions are casual English conversations, where mentors teach grammar and vocabulary, but also provide friendship, guidance, and someone to talk to.

Learning English opens doors to new educational and career opportunities, helping students thrive in modern India. If you’re interested in becoming a mentor for India, please specify this when creating your account.
