YouthInAction
London
In London, our focus is on connecting children with secondary-school mentors, who will meet with them online to help them in a school subject or an extracurricular activity that the mentor specialises in. We want to make sure every child is given the attention they deserve when it comes to their education, so we hope to help each student reach their full potential with a program tailored to them, and to create role models for children across the UK.
Our Story
We are two secondary school students from the West London area. Having been fortunate enough to have had an amazing education and several co-curricular opportunities, we know first-hand how academic development at a primary school age will jumpstart the rest of a child’s life. We have also seen a keen desire from our peers to pass on their own skills and talents, and so realised that we wanted to find a way to connect need with opportunity, and use our talents to give back.
Our Classes
To make our sessions possible for people in any part of the UK, they are held online. Once you make an account and let us know what subjects you need support in, and times you are available, we’ll put you in touch with a secondary-school volunteer who can mentor you. The logistics are handled between mentor and student, leaving timings and dates completely flexible to your schedule. Whether your class is in Maths, French, or Piano, you’ll be able to communicate with your mentor and set up a timetable that is perfect for you.
